Russian doctors developed a simple breathing exercise. It will clear your stuffy nose and help you get rid of nasal congestion in a minute, but make sure you follow the instructions correctly.
1. Pinch your nose and walk fast. Keep your nose pinched and your mouth closed. You should make about 20-30 steps.
2. While you walk, hold your breath until you get a strong urge to breathe. Sit down, and keep your spine straight. Focus on the breath.
3. Release your nose, resuming your usual breathing, and remember, no deep breaths, and keep your mouth closed. Instead of big inhalations, take small breaths and relax the exhalation muscles, particularly your upper chest and other respiratory muscles.
4. Take another, and again, smaller inhale, then relax. With each inhalation practice the shallow breathing and remain relaxed.
5. The purpose is to maintain the air hunger for 2-3 minutes and keep your muscles relaxed. You can frequently breathe during this shallow breathing, but there is no problem.
You may find this exercise too simple, but it really works. Once you clear your nose, remember to breathe through the nose, and not through your mouth.

How to get rid of a stuffy nose

Stuffy nose is also refers to Nasal congestion, blocked nose or congested nose. It is caused by cold, flu, allergies (all types) or sinus infection, which in turn is caused by the inflamed or irritated blood vessels in your sinuses or membrane lining inside your nostrils. They produce excess mucus in your nose which will block the respiratory passages. Fortunately, this problem will be cleared with these natural home remedies.

Home Remedies for Stuffy Nose

Steam

Steam is one of the best remedies for any respiratory problems. It helps to thin the mucus in your nose or sinuses so that the inflammation will be reduced.

Process:

Heat water in a bowl and then remove from the heat.
Place a towel over your head and cover your head and the bowel so that no air or steam will escape.
Slowly inhale and exhale the steam until you get relief from the congestion.
Repeat twice a day, once in the morning and once at night.
You can add few drops of any essential oils like tea tree oil, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, etc. or a teaspoon of crushed carom seeds in your steam water.
Note: Do not actually put your face in the water.

Garlic

Garlic acts as a natural anti-viral which releases secretions that helps to drain the nasal passages and makes you breathe comfortably. It also helps to increase your immune system when taken regularly.

Process – 1:

Take few freshly peeled garlic cloves and eat regularly
Chewing garlic cloves will help to give relief from blocked nose and discomfort.
Alternatively, you can eat this regularly in the form of soups, or any cooked form of food, in your recipes, etc.

Process – 2:

Boil 3 – 4 freshly peeled garlic cloves in a cup of water.
Add ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder.
Stir it well and drink.
Regular intake gives the best results.

Drink this to get relief from the blocked nose.

Process – 2:

Add two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoon of honey to a cup of warm water
Stir well until they have dissolved.
Consume 2 to 3 times a day for quick relief.

Tomato Juice

Tomatoes are rich in vitamin C which will boost your immune system, it also works to open up the sinuses to remove the mucus and inflammation in the vessels.

Process:

Mix a cup of tomato juice, a tablespoon of chopped garlic, 1/2 tablespoon of hot sauce, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and a little celery salt.
Bring to the boil.
Drink this hot tomato juice at least twice a day for quick relief.

Neti pot

Neti pot is used to clear your nasal passages by removing the congestion. It is specially designed to flush out the impurities and mucus in your nasal passage. Do not use this process if you suffer from flu or if you’re doing it for the first time without any medical practitioner.

Process:

Dissolve a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm distilled or sterile water.
Pour into a neti pot as a saline solution.
Tilt your head over a sink and place the spout of the pot in your nostril.
Tilt the pot until the water enters into your nasal passages.
