For your *First* remedy you need Lemons, Garlic, Honey & Water
First, slice a few lemons…they are rich in Vitamin C – a scientifically proven remedy for cold.
Chop some Garlic
When chopped, Garlic releases a compound called Allianese which further creates Allicin. It highly stimulates your immune system.
The Sanskrit name for Garlic is ‘Rason’ from which the Hindi name ‘Lahsun’ is derived. Rason means the king of Rasas.
Vedic sciences firmly believe that Rason possesses the properties to cure any malfunctioning in the body.
Just like an Apple a day, keeps doctor away… a little Garlic every day, keeps diseases away.
Now, mix these items in a bowl…Pour honey all over it. Honey contains antioxidants, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.
Take a glass of water, pour the mixture in it and drink it slowly.
Remedy 1: Quick Recap

Get ready for a spicy cure.Spice Tea is a highly beneficial Ayurvedic remedy to get rid of common cold.
Dry roast and grind a quarter cup of coriander seeds, one and a half tablespoons each of cumin and fennel seeds, and a quarter teaspoon of fenugreek seeds ie.Methi
Coriander seeds are a rich source of potassium, iron, Vitamin A, K and C, folic acid, magnesium and calcium. They have medicinal properties.
Cumin contains caffeine and special aromatic oils which make it an expectorant – meaning an anti-congestive mixture.
Similarly, Fennel Seeds have Cineole and Anetol which are expectorants in nature which help relieve the phlegm caused by cold and other respiratory disorders.
Fenugreek seeds, Methi has mucilage that helps relieve throat soreness
Now, boil a cup of water
Add one and a half tablespoon of this spice powder and one and a half teaspoon of rock sugar i.e. Misri.
Let it simmer for three to four minutes.
Add two tablespoons of milk.
Bring the solution to a boil and then strain it.
Hot milk aids in detaching the phlegm from the respiratory tract walls and hence aids its removal.

Sip it slowly while it is hot.
Remedy 2: Quick Recap
-1/4 Cup Coriander
-1 1/2 Table Spoon Cumin
-1 1/2 Table Spoon Fennel Seeds
-1/4 Teaspoon Methi
Boil one cup of water and add 1 ½ tbsp. of spice prepared with ½ tbsp. of rock sugar also called Misri.
Add 2 tbsp. of milk while simmering down the flame fir 3-4 min. Now bring it to boil and strain it.
Sip it while it is hot for the best relief.

Cayenne Pepper naturally does what many cold medicines try to do.
It effectively breaks up mucus and helps clear your respiratory passages. It has immunity boosting and antimicrobial properties. If taken regularly, it can also prevent you from getting cold infection.
For Honey Cayenne Tea you need 1 cup water, 1 black tea bag, 1 teaspoon honey and a pinch of cayenne pepper
Heat water on the stovetop and steep the tea for about four minutes. Remove bag and combine tea with the honey and cayenne in a mug.
Your Honey Cayenne Tea is ready. Keep sipping it at regular intervals until the cold symptoms subside.
Remedy 3: Quick Recap
-1 cup water
-1 black tea bag
-1 teaspoon honey
-Pinch cayenne pepper
Heat the water on burner and steep the tea for 4 min. Remove tea bag and add the tea with honey and cayenne in a mug and you are ready to combat common cold.
Here are some more tips to fight cold:
Drink a lot of fluids.
It helps loosen congestion and prevents dehydration. Avoid caffeinated sodas, which can make dehydration worse.
Do Saltwater gargles for quick relief from sore throat.
