6 Ways To Treat Baby Diaper Rash Naturally

Scared your baby is going to get a diaper rash? Want to know how to get rid of diaper rash fast? Or prevent it altogether? Then you’ve come to the right place!

The first time my baby had diaper rash, just like any other new mother, I panicked too! I wasn’t sure how to get rid of diaper rash what had caused it or if I had done something wrong that made it spread. After I checked with my baby’s doctor I discovered that diaper rash can be caused by a number of things, I also learnt about diaper rash treatments.

Mama Earth Baby Rash Cream – https://bit.ly/2PgLGAI

Diaper Rash Causes:

Let’s start with the most obvious doubt, what is diaper rash?
It’s basically inflamed skin, it appears as reddish marks around your baby’s bottom and thighs.
If a diaper is too tight, you leave your baby in wet or unchanged dirty diapers for too long and even chafing can lead to a diaper rash.

So aside from learning how to apply diaper rash cream, here’s what helped me prevent and treat diaper rash in my little one.

Diaper Rash Home Remedy:

1. Clean and dry:
One of the most common causes of diaper rash is a wet diaper. A simple tip is to make sure the diaper is dry at all times.
It’s a good practice to change the diaper every 3 hours.
You will also need to change the diaper at night to help the rash clear up.
If your baby has a rash, you may go through as many as 8 diapers in a single day.

2. Talc free Powder:
For babies, talcum powder may cause respiratory problems and can even be poisonous if breathed in or swallowed.
There are so many ills associated with talc as an ingredient that’s why I use Talc free dusting powder from Mamaearth which is made of organic kitchen ingredients like Cornstarch, Arrowroot powder etc.

3. Diet:
Your baby’s diet also plays a role in diaper rash. If she urinates too often and the acidity level of her stool is high, then this could lead to the formation of rashes. Things like too much juice or citrus fruits are also culprits.

4. Get Rid Of The Diaper:
Often, all your baby really needs is sometime without a diaper to help prevent a rash from developing. Exposing your baby’s skin to air will ensure her skin stays dry. Just make sure to place a towel or other absorbent cloth underneath her to avoid any messy accidents.

5. Make sure to keep your hands are clean:
Probably the most overlooked but important point, make sure every time you change a diaper, you’re also washing your hands thoroughly! Your hands can carry the rash to other parts of your baby’s body as well as to your other children.

6. Heat Rashes:
Summer is here, and for your little baby that means the danger of heat rashes! It can also be treated by loosening baby’s clothes to allow air to pass and dry the skin, keeping her in a cool area and bathing her often with cool water.

Hopefully with these quick tips you will be able to treat diaper rash as well as prevent it from developing in the future.

My Baby Has a Birthmark

Amy Tiu is a mother of two, each daughter perfect in her eyes. And like most moms, Tiu has studied everything from tiny toes to button nose.

“You’re looking to see their whole body and see if they have marks anywhere,” says Tiu.

More than 80 percent of babies have some kind of birthmark, including Ella.

“She has a little mark on her tummy, a red mark, and we were just told it would go away as she gets older,” says Tiu.

“It’s kind of a bad name to call them a birthmark, because quite lot of them aren’t there at birth. They show up short a while after, once the skin tone and circulation evens out,” says Dr. Eric Jones, pediatrician on Lee Memorial Health System’s medical staff.

Most marks fall into two categories: vascular and pigmented. Vascular varieties are caused by blood vessels. Pigmented birthmarks result from abnormal skin pigment. They are better known by catchy names, based on where they appear or how they look.

“Mongolian spot is a darker spot on a darker complexion. But we can see them on anybody. They are collections of purplish pigment- they almost look like an indistinct bruise on kids. We see them sometimes on back, buttock, the curve of the shoulder,” says Dr. Jones.

These pigment marks fade or disappear over time. Light brown or tan cafe au lait spots are also pigment variations that become less noticeable. Vascular marks are much more distinct.

“There’s one that’s called port wine stain, it’s a very dark reddish/ purple mark. Usually on the face, those don’t tend to fade. The other ones people see a lot are the strawberry marks, the raspberry marks, they’re called hemangiomas,” says Dr. Jones.

Bright red bulges on the face, strawberries grow rapidly before shrinking and don’t need treatment unless one hampers eating, breathing or vision. Port wine stains may be treated with lasers if they cause embarrassment. For the most part, birthmarks offer a spot of individuality.

“If it’s not bothering you, if it’s something that makes you distinctive, it’s not worth messing with,” says Dr. Jones.
