Presented by

A common wart is a small growth that appears on the surface of a person’s skin. They are not cancerous or harmful, but they have an unsightly appearance. The human papillomavirus, or HPV, is the type of virus that causes common warts. The virus normally enters through a cut or a scratch, causing an infection. The infection triggers the skin cells to grow quickly, causing a wart to form. HPV can be acquired by touch of an infected person or object.

What are the Symptoms of Warts? A presence of a small, grainy growth on the skin. Common warts normally appear on the hands and fingers. Warts may appear the same color as a person’s skin or as a gray or tan tint. The wart will contain tiny black dots, caused by clotting of blood vessels.

What are the Causes of Warts? Warts are caused by a virus called the human papillomavirus (HPV). People mostly contract it via a scrape or cut in the skin. People who bite their fingernails are more likely to contract HPV. As well as those who pick at the skin around their fingernails. Children and teens are at an increased risk, due to scratches or cuts. Warts can spread simply by touching them. Warts tend to take months to grow large enough to be noticed. It can be difficult to know exactly when and why a wart has been caused.

How are Warts Treated? Without any type of treatment, common warts will normally go away on their own. However, it can take up to 18 months for them to disappear. Since warts are usually easily seen, many people have them removed. Treatment includes freezing spray & salicylic acid, purchased over-the-counter. If it’s not effective, visit a dermatologist for professional treatment. Treatment includes cantharidin, cryotherapy, curettage and electrosurgery. If necessary, a dermatologist can remove the wart by cutting it out of the skin.

How are Warts Prevented? Practice key techniques which could prevent the HPV virus from spreading. Those who already have a wart should avoid picking or scratching at it. Since it could spread to different areas of the body. If you see someone else with a wart, avoid touching it. Always wear latex gloves and wash your hands after touching the wart. Water can help the HPV virus spread more easily. Keep warts dry, as much as possible. If someone has a wart in the household, they should avoid sharing their items.

How to Get Rid of Warts Naturally

Warts are caused by the HPV virus, and they can appear on people of every age and on any body part, such as on your face, your feet, around your groin area, or on your hands.

Warts are transmitted through skin to wart contact. Normally, children have them more since they tend to touch warts more. However, it’s important to remember that the virus in the warts can only be passed to another person through a wound, such as a scratch or an ingrown nail. In today’s video we are going to show you the best natural remedies to eliminate warts.

1. Castor oil and baking soda

The combination of castor oil and baking soda is both antimicrobial and antiviral and is very useful in eliminating uncomfortable warts.

Its direct application controls the infection and keeps it from spreading to other parts of the body.

1 tablespoon of baking soda;
2 tablespoons of castor oil.

Moisten the baking soda with the castor oil and massage the solution into the area around your warts.
Let is sit for 30 minutes then rinse it off.
Repeat this treatment three times a day, every day, until you are cured.

2. Onion and lemon juice

Onion, when combined with lemon, helps balance your skin’s pH levels. It also has antiviral and antibacterial properties that fight off warts.

3 spoonfuls of onion juice;
1 tablespoon of lemon juice.

Mix the onion juice with the fresh lemon juice and dab it on to your wart using a piece of cotton. If you want to, wrap it to allow it to treat the wart over night.

3. Aloe vera and honey

In addition to its skin benefits, aloe vera is also great at fighting warts. Its antiviral, hydrating and anti-inflammatory effects help get rid of these small tumors, as well as improve your skin’s appearance.

1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel;
1 tablespoon of honey.

Mix these two ingredients until they form a thick paste. Moisten a piece of cotton with the solution and dab it onto the wart.
Let it sit. Repeat this treatment 3 times a day.
